The film is a metaphorical depiction of the mythical turtle. In a drought struck village of Rajasthan, Ramkaran Choudhary, is churning the parched, sun baked earth, to extract water and the common folk indulged in a tug of war, rotating on his shell, desperate to quench their thirst.The film is inspired by a real story of Mr. Ramkaran Choudhary (Bagod) from Village Dehlod, Rajasthan. The film had its premiere at the Jagran Film Festival on 2nd July 2018 and has been selected in China Film Festival, Third Eye Asian Film Festival and Rajasthan International Film Festival. At 66th National Film Awards, Turtle received the National Film Award for Best Rajasthani Film.


Before taking up film editing from The Film & Television Institute of India, Pune, he did his masters in Television Direction & Graduation in Film & Television Production from EMRC, Indore. He had already made a couple of music & animation videos, theatre & short films like ‘Aashaad’ and ‘Umas’ winning him awards at various national and international film festivals. ‘Turtle (Kachhua)’, his debutant feature film starring Sanjay Mishra, has participated in various international film festivals and won awards including the National Film Award for Best Rajasthani Film. His second bollywood feature is ‘Wah Zindagi’.
